The other day I was working at my bar, it was really late probably 1:30 or 2:00 am, we were almost full and as always the most sold bottles were whisky. Another night, another 15 whisky bottles sold and all were combined in the same way, whisky and soda.
It was 10 oclock, people started to arrive and tables were filled really soon. "hey, one absolut and cranberry" said a waiter. "one white bacardi and coke" said another one. "two JW and soda" said about every waiter about 2 times in a row. I was checking that service runned fast and I even haved to get into the bar and give a hand to my bartenders, it was amazing how quickly whisky finished that day.
At the end, I went to one table and asked if somebody wanted anything else to drink, a "popular guy" those who think that saying "one whisky on the rocks" makes him look "nice", told me; what do you have as usual I offered the most popular alcohol, whisky and he said ok. I made the same question how do you like it and he said on the rocks. When I came back with a very clean old fashioned with 1.5 oz of 12 year old scotch whisky served with 3 "rocks", he told me what is that, and I said "whisky on the rocks" he tried to avoid looking fool so accept it and even tried to drink it. At the end he have no choice than leaving almost all the drink.
Then I realized that it was my fault that he didnt drank the whisky, the guy tried to create an image and look as a WHISKY LOVER saying those popular words "whisky on the rocks", it is my job, it is my opportunity, I should have taught him about whisky.
This the time, you will make yourself a whisky lover.
